AUTUMN IN THE AIR

As I am sitting on the deck drinking my coffee, I notice the air is cooler this morning; shivering, I draw a sweater around my shoulders.  Fall is in the air for sure.  The kids are back to school and the last of the garden crops are canned and put away in the basement for this winter.  God surely blessed us again this year with vegetables and fruits.  The garden is ready to be cut and plowed and sowed in winter grass.  The yard is getting its last haircut and trim, and all the flower pots have been cleaned out and fall mums put in their places.  The scarecrow and hay bales are going up to decorate for Fall.  Soon there will be frost on the pumpkin.  Thanksgiving will be here before I know it.  Yes, the air seems cooler this morning.  The trees are turning yellow and leaves are beginning to fall.  I need to get the deck furniture cleaned and put away for the winter, and the pool cleaned and winterized.  We sure had a wonderful summer!  Now it is time to start enjoying soup made from the vegetables we have canned and watch movies we haven't watched in a while.  I can taste the hot chocolate by the fire while staying warm indoors.  I am thankful for the many blessings from the Lord, and for the memories I will have of this wonderful Summer season.  Yes, Autumn is in the air.
