Annie’s Granddaughter

There is no love like that of a Grandmother,

None that I know of, it’s like no other.

God knew what she needed.

So He sent to her Tori Jade,
A whole new world was open and Annie’s world was made.

They go shopping for outfits and laugh out loud,
Sometimes they draw attention from the crowd.

They try on shoes and play all kinds of games,
One would never know that Granny Annie’s leg was lame.

She perks right up and screams with glee,
When Tori Jade she does see.

Her world is centered around this small child,
No matter how she hurts, on her face is a smile.

After the visit is over and all is said and done,
She breaths a sigh of relief and then the tears do come.

It’s over now, Annie says, and I miss her so much,
Her little girl voice and her tender touch.

The noise she made and the hugs she gave to me,
Now its only her picture I see.

But it will go by fast and again be her weekend,
I’ll squeeze her and love her all over again.
